Provide your expertise and support the teams!

Helsinki Challenge is a science-based idea competition and accelerator that is all about collaboration and co-creation. We invite you to join the Helsinki Challenge community. Provide your expertise, experience and ideas and help teams solve the world’s biggest challenges with science!

Helsinki Challenge in a nutshell

We are meeting at a time of immense challenges to sustainable development, which is why the United Nations has introduced the universal 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It consists of 17 goals for a better future for the whole world. Helsinki Challenge gathers these goals under three main themes: Sustainable Planet, Urban Future and People in Change.

To solve grand global challenges we need broad-minded thinking and bold boundary crossings. That is exactly what Helsinki Challenge promotes. It’s a platform for multidisciplinary collaboration: science and art, business, decision makers, the public sector and other actors of the society need to get together to achieve the Agenda 2030 goals.

Support the teams

You will have a unique opportunity to be a part of projects with potentially immense impact together with top science teams. You’ll get to collaborate with the academia and the Helsinki Challenge community in a very special and unique way. Your main goal is to support the teams or a particular team during the Helsinki Challenge accelerator programme in 2017.

There are various possibilities to support teams. During the accelerator programme we organize clinics that focus on different themes (such as feasibility, funding, communication and community building) and intensive bootcamps. Teams will also need your assistance in between these clinics and camps, since most of the thinking and trimming of ideas happens during that time.

You can choose how much time you dedicate to the teams. It doesn’t matter if it’s a lunch meeting or a 48-hour bootcamp working session – just as long as you’re passionate about creating a certain solution!

When

The Helsinki Challenge jury chose 20 teams to the accelerator programme. The teams were announced in mid January 2017. More info will follow for registered mentors, advisors, collaborators!
